A Sacred Volcano, Three Kings, & A Dream
The Dagara revere five elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Mountain, and the Wild. Mountain is the keeper of our stories — so it's fitting that From The Ashes was forged on the rim of Mount Agung, the holy volcano of Bali.
When Spirit Asks, Say Yes
When I learned of the trek up the 3,031m peak, my first response was no thank you, I’m here to relax.
But my unseen team had other plans. That night, a potent medicine dream revealed my role in this lineage, to tend our story.
By morning I could barely breathe, as if an energetic snake had coiled about my neck, daring me to ignore my truth.
It was my Wedeme and Ancestors demanding I take them up the volcano for my end of year rituals.
So I did - exactly one year after I hung the Three Kings in my shrine room. I didn’t realize this potent Medicine Art would change my life. But it has, and it is good.
Three Kings That Started It All
The Ritual That Keeps Rippling
Once I said yes, life arranged the rest.
I told a friend about the calling, and within 5 minutes met a woman whose summit partner had just canceled.
In a matter of hours, it was 11pm on December 30, 2023, and we began the ascent - a grueling 7 ½ hour climb. Without Ancestors pulling me into destiny, I would have turned back.
At the summit, I found a ledge on the volcano’s rim, offered prayers, ash, water, and other items my Ancestors requested.
I rang my wedeme bell as I prayed for the way to be opened for this medicine to root into my life.
Needless to say, I have not been disappointed!

I’m Tylor, and I created From The Ashes as a sacred exchange of wisdom through healing and art.
In early 2023 I had a vision about how to deepen my service to the Dagara culture, out of gratitude for being chosen by the medicine to carry the lineage.
It is a living tale of how spirit rises, like a phoenix from the ashes, the sacred truth will always rise again. This labor of love, is so precious to me.
This project is my latest chapter of service to spirit, wakefulness, and trusting in life. I hope you enjoy!
